It is the largest native Punjabi-populated city in the world. It is also an important historical center of South Asia and a main cultural center of Punjab and Pakistan. Lahore has a population of 12 million people, ranks as the 42nd most populated city globally and is the 8th largest OIC country. Lahore is also referred to as the “Mughal City of Gardens” because of the historic presence of gardens in and around the city dating back to the Mughal period.
