The video and lesson plan takes students through the life, challenges, struggles and accomplishments of Samina Khayal Baig. Samina Khayal Baig is a Pakistani high-altitude mountaineer. At the age of 21 in 2013, Samina climbed Mount Everest and all Seven Summits to become the first and youngest Muslim woman to do so. In 2010, Samina was the first to climb the peak Chashkin Sar which is 6,000 meters high. It was later named Samina Peak in her honor. She reached the summit of ‘Koh-i-Brobar’ or Mount Equality in 2011. The lesson plan has grammar and comprehension activities to scaffold students’ reading, writing and listening skills.
