Hiran means ‘deer’ and Minar means ‘tower’. It was constructed by Emperor Jahangir in honor of his pet antelope, Mansiraj. Mansiraj, which literally means, “Light of the Mind” was trained to lure wild animals to the tank so they could be hunted.
