Hamdardi by Allama Iqbal is one of his most famous poems for children. It is a conversation between a bird and a firefly who help one another in a very unique way. The bird is scared to fly at night because it is dark and the cute little firefly offers to help light the way. That is so beautiful, isn’t it? We invited our young friend, Faara, to come and recite these lovely words of Iqbal for you.
There are many versions of this poem that you will find around the internet. We like our version because this poem has been narrated by a child, for other children. The voice, pronunciation and emotion in Faara’s voice really helps bring this poem to life.
