Shireen Abdullah is a butterfly conservationist, who has been conserving butterflies for the past 10 years. Shireen stopped by the ToffeeTV Studios to conduct a live-session of how a butterfly is formed.
In this session, Shireen tells us about the lifecycle of a butterfly. She takes us through the cycle from the fertility of the egg to the larva, until it becomes a big, beautiful butterfly.
This takes place with the help of some caterpillars and the leaves where they spend their life during reproduction. Shireen says that it takes 10 to 12 days for a caterpillar to become a butterfly. She highlights some precautions we must take in order to help conserve butterflies. She ends her session beautifully by releasing three butterflies.
We hope you enjoy this session and if you do, be sure and share it with your friends and colleagues!
